Who are The Competing Champions on Dubai Tennis Championships Title ?
Four former champions are seeking their second title at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for men, an ATP 500 event set to start on February 24.
Leading the contenders is France’s Ugo Humbert, ranked 15th in the world and the reigning champion.
He is joined by Russia’s Daniil Medvedev, world No. 7 and 2023 champion.
His compatriot Andrey Rublev, world No. 10, the 2022 champion and 2023 runner-up.
As well as another Russian, Aslan Karatsev, ranked 225th, who won the title in 2021.
In addition to these four champions, the tournament field includes Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, ranked 12th in the world and a two-time finalist (2019 and 2020).
Other notable participants competing for the title include:
Croatia’s Marin Čilić, world No. 188, who boasts 21 career titles, including the 2014 US Open.
And also taly’s Matteo Berrettini, ranked 33rd, who reached the Wimbledon final in 2021.
Medvedev is considered the top contender for the men’s title.
He enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed, with 20 career titles, including two Grand Slam victories.
Women’s Tournament
The women’s competition kicks off on February 16, featuring nine of the world’s top-ranked players.
This year’s edition holds special significance as it marks the 25th anniversary of the tournament’s inception.
Highlighting the growing prominence of tennis in the region.
Defending champion Jasmine Paolini will aim to retain her title against a field led by world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
Most of the top 40-ranked players have confirmed their participation, ensuring one of the most competitive draws in the tournament’s history.
Despite the possibility of withdrawals due to injuries.
