Dubai Tennis Championship top seed, Daniil Medvedev marked the 8th win against Struff in their head-to-head matchups, with only one previous loss.
He commented on his new victory:
“You just need to play well and win matches.
I love tennis, I love watching matches, but there was no pressure before stepping onto the court.”

The Russian, Medvedev, secured victory against his German opponent in straight sets, winning 6-4, 7-6.
Accordingly, he advanced to the Round of 16 in Dubai Open Men’s Tennis Championship.
After defeating Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff in the Round of 32 on Tuesday.
Medvedev performed well against Struff, but he had to withdraw from Qatar Open last week due to fatigue.
“The cold I caught in Doha wasn’t the best way to end the tournament, but I hope to keep trying and reap the rewards of what I’ve been building since the start of the season—whether here in Dubai or later on. It was a good start,” the Russian star added.

In the next round, Medvedev will face Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Andrey Rublev, the tournament’s third seed, exited Dubai Open after losing to Frenchman Quentin Halys.
Rublev failed to capitalize on his lead in the first set and ultimately lost 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 to his French opponent.
This defeat came just three days after Rublev claimed Qatar Open title by defeating Britain’s Jack Draper in the final.
Besides Medvedev, Who Advanced to the Round of 16 ?
In a major upset, Croatian Marin Čilić advanced to the Round of 16 by defeating Australia’s Alex de Minaur.
Čilić overcame second-seed de Minaur with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 victory in the Round of 32 on Tuesday in the UAE city.
He will next face Australian Alexei Popyrin, who defeated Lebanon’s Hady Habib in the Round of 32 on Monday.
Fifth-seeded Frenchman Ugo Humbert also secured a spot in the Round of 16 with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Czech player Jiří Lehečka.
While Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the sixth seed, withdrew from the tournament against Australian Christopher O’Connell.

While Portugal’s Nuno Borges also progressed to the Round of 16 with a straightforward 6-2, 6-1 win over France’s Arthur Fils, the tournament’s eighth seed.
Italy’s Luca Nardi reached the same stage after defeating Hungary’s Márton Fucsovics 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.
He will next face Belgium’s Zizou Bergs, who eliminated Tunisia’s Aziz Dougaz in the Round of 32.
Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime also joined the Round of 16 after defeating Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik in three sets, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3.
