Dubai RTA at the Forefront of Clean Energy Movement.
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has won Energy Management Vision Award 2024 from the Global Clean Energy Ministerial Forum.
This award recognizes the RTA for presenting a case study on the ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
And also for its prominent role in promoting sustainable energy management practices and encouraging the transition to a global clean energy economy.
This prestigious award highlights the significant contributions of RTA in raising global awareness about the benefits of energy management systems based on ISO 50001 standards.
It showcases the RTA’s position at the forefront of clean energy movement.
As well as its role in promoting best international practices, and its contribution to the transformation towards a global clean energy economy.
Strategy
The adoption of ISO 50001 by the RTA has resulted in multiple benefits related to energy management.
Adding that the RTA developed a zero-emissions public transport strategy for Dubai 2050, announced in 2022.
Mentioning that the strategy aims to create zero-emission public transport and related infrastructure by 2050.
It also seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
Besides achieving financial savings of up to 3.3 billion dirhams.
The RTA’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability reflects the significant impact that institutions can have in achieving these important global benefits.
The Energy Management Award is part of the Global Clean Energy Ministerial Forum’s efforts to honor organizations that excel in implementing energy efficiency systems and contribute to the global exchange of knowledge in energy management.
