Dubai RTA is Part of COP28 sustainable goals.
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority ( Dubai RTA) is the Principal Pathway Partner for COP28.
Moreover, it has a comprehensive plan for participating in the conference from 30 Nov to 12 Dec.
The developed plan was in coordination with the Office of the Special Envoy for Climate Change of the UAE and Expo City Dubai.
Dubai RTA plan will be as per below:
Providing transportation services in the Blue Zone for official delegations.
As well as the Green Zone for representatives of businesses and the public and the 18th United Nation Climate Change Conference of Youth (COY18).
This will be done through a variety of eco-friendly transportation options, including the Dubai Metro, Dubai Bus, and taxis.
Providing COP28 delegates with special edition Nol cards for free public transportation throughout the conference.
In addition to extending Dubai Metro hours from 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM throughout the conference days.
And also deploying 67 biofuel-powered buses and 10 electric buses to serve visitors at four stops within Expo City Dubai.
There will be new bus routes to transport delegates involved in organizing the event to various locations throughout the emirate.
In addition to more than 10,000 hybrid taxis and 1,000 electric luxury vehicles for transportation to and from the event venue.
When it comes to the technical plan, it will be for managing mobility using various modes of transport.
Including Dubai Metro stations, bus stations, and taxis.
Dubai RTA implemented a plan to manage and designate service points.
As well as traffic flow on the surrounding road network and intersections at the event site.
Mentioning that alternative strategies were also developed to address potential traffic congestion scenarios.
By installing over 100 directional signs on the roads so visitors and participants can easily locate their destination and reach the conference venue.
Dubai RTA is participating in the conference through a number of initiatives, including:
A visual presentation highlighting the key aspects of its Zero Net Emissions Public Transport Strategy by 2050.
In addition to a platform in the Green Zone to raise awareness among participants about the RTA’s key initiatives and projects.
During the upcoming 18th United Nation Climate Change Conference of Youth (COY18) Dubai RTA will have a presentation.
In order to shed light on green mobility in public transport and taxis.
As well as the RTA’s key innovative initiatives and plans to reduce emissions from public transport buses and taxis in Dubai.
Dubai RTA has also called on participants and visitors to COP28 to use public transportation.
To reach the conference venue in Expo City Dubai, under the slogan “Your best way to a better world.”
This will encourage everyone to participate in protecting the climate.
By choosing a way to get to the event venue that starts with using public transportation.
While enjoying the sights of Dubai and contributing to reducing carbon emissions.

Visitors to COP28 can obtain a Nol card and download the S’hail application to identify the best, easiest, and fastest way to reach the conference venue.
The S’hail application can be used to book rides on the Dubai Metro and RTA’s electric buses.
Which are the most sustainable modes of transport within the conference.
And also to book rides on the fleet of eco-friendly electric vehicles available from taxi operators in the emirate, making the journey more convenient and environmentally friendly.
