Dubai PodFest Kicks off Under the Patronage of Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid
Dubai Press Club organized the fourth “Dubai PodFest”, under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
This event is the largest for podcasters and audio content creators in the Arab world.
It aims to discuss the future of Arab podcasts.
Moreover, it highlights Arab podcasts development amidst modern technologies, and celebrate inspiring experiences while encouraging creative talent.
Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President of Dubai Media Council, pointed out that Arab podcasts have become an essential part of the Arab media landscape.
Due to their rich content, which directly addresses societal issues.
She emphasized that Dubai Press Club, through organizing this event, reflects Dubai’s leading role in supporting media creativity.
She also mentioned that integrating technologies like augmented reality will enhance podcast interactivity and contribute to its continued growth.
Key Sessions
Dubai PodFest hosted various discussions addressing different aspects of podcasting.
James Cridland, Editor-in-Chief of “Podnews,” presented a keynote session on the future of podcasting.
He reviewed the challenges the industry faced over the past year, and highlighted changes on major platforms like Apple.
Despite the challenges, Cridland predicted that the podcast industry will continue to grow as demand for on-demand audio content increases.
Other sessions included “The Art of Podcast Production,” which discussed the importance of sound in shaping the listener’s experience.
Alongside the role of directors in delivering distinctive visual and audio content using modern technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Another session focused on the role of podcasts in empowering women and changing family lives by showcasing inspiring stories.
In the session “The Secret to Podcast Success,” Anas Bukhash and Abdulrahman Abu-Malaikh shared their experiences in creating audio content.
Stressing the importance of consistent production and content quality to attract followers.
