The impacts caused by the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) have shut down facilities across the world. Now, in light of new developments, the United Arab Emirates prepares to reopen the Dubai metro. This will help ease people into returning to everyday life as the pandemic wanes.
Dubai Metro reopening
As of Sunday, the Dubai Metro service is open again. New preventative and safety measures will take into account the decision to relax movement restrictions. There is a requirement to wear masks for all passengers and staff of the Metro.
The Dubai Metro service will operate between 7.00 am and 11.00 pm every day except Friday. Subsequently, Fridays will operate a reduced 10.00 am till 11.00 pm service.
Other public transport facilities have also reopened.
Other facilities reopening
Malls and shopping centers can reopen soon. Authorities have new precautions going in to place to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. A mandatory 2 meters distance between shoppers is in effect. Malls will operate restricted hours of 12.00 pm until 10.00 pm. A maximum capacity restriction of 30% is in place.
Restaurants can welcome patrons back into their seated dining areas. A capacity restriction is in place. A maximum of 30% capacity at a time. Customer seating will remain 2 meters apart at all times.
Restaurants and stores will place signs in the windows to indicate the maximum number of customers allowed inside.
All venues must have dedicated isolation areas. In the case that a Coronavirus infection is located the patient will go to the isolation area.
Valet parking is not available in malls or restaurants.
Restrictions still in place
Remote working protocols remain in place. In short, employees need to stay at home unless absolutely necessary. As well as, entertainment facilities will stay closed for the time being. This is to ensure effective social distancing.
