World Championship for XCAT powerboats Exciting finale
Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) has been actively preparing for the start of the new 2024-2025 sports season.
Participants discussed several topics during the monthly meeting of the club’s board of directors, chaired by Ahmed Saeed Bin Meshar, .
Including performance reports and the organization of international events.
Notably, the upcoming season will feature the exciting finale of the World Championship for XCAT powerboats, hosted by Dubai in December.
The maritime sports season will kick off on Dubai’s beaches starting from September 21, 2024.
It will continue until the 34th edition of the long-distance traditional rowing race (30ft), scheduled for May 2025.
Dubai International Marine Club Preparations
Dubai International Marine Club has introduced new technical specifications for the traditional rowing race category.
Ensuring that participating boats adhere to the approved regulations.
Additionally, DIMC board recommended supporting the leading team in the World Championship for XCAT powerboats.
Specifically the boat “Victory 7” led by the duo Salem Al Adidi and Issa Al Ali.
Rich history
Dubai Traditional Rowing Race (30ft) new season’s program includes three rounds, all them in November.
The first edition of the Al Maktoum Cup was held in 1998, now it is celebrating its 28th edition this year.
Dubai Traditional Rowing Race (30ft) competitions are highly anticipated traditional races.
They enjoy overwhelming popularity within the country and across the GCC.

Those skilled racers are gearing up to travel to Italy for the second round of the championship.
Scheduled in Palermo-Cefalù from July 19 to 21, 2024.
The meeting emphasized the need to double efforts in preparing the Victory 7 boats for the upcoming stages of the global championship.
