Dubai Airports Successfully Resume Normal Operations at Dubai International Airport After Floods
The United Arab Emirates recently experienced heavy flooding, the worst in 75 years.
These floods were significantly impacting Dubai International Airport (DXB).
However, thanks to the tireless efforts of Dubai Airports, the airport has been able to resume operations quickly and efficiently.
Return to Normal Operations:
Dubai International Airport has returned to its normal flight schedule, currently operating at a rate of 1,400 daily flights.
Moreover, all facilities and services are back in operation at full capacity.
Because all water accumulation on roads leading to the airport has been cleared.
Challenges and Overcoming Them:
The flooding resulted in the cancellation of 2,155 flights and the diversion of another 115.
However, Dubai Airports worked with its partners to reschedule flights, strengthen staffing, and assist affected passengers.
Mentioning that 31 flights were diverted to Dubai World Central (DWC) to ensure passenger journeys continued.
And over 75,000 water bottles and snacks were distributed to impacted travelers across both airports.
Appreciation and Thanks
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, commended the strong team spirit displayed by the Dubai Airport community.
Including Dubai Airports staff, airline partners, government agencies, and service partners.
Mr. Griffiths expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to swiftly and efficiently restoring normalcy.
