Dubai Chambers recently organized three workshops.
These workshops will familiarize the business community with important legal aspects related to maritime law, data protection, and bounced cheques.
A total of 226 participants representing various business sectors in Dubai attended the workshops.

- This workshop, organized in collaboration with Al Tamimi & Associates.
Moreover, it discussed UAE Federal Decree-Law No. (43) of 2023 (concerning maritime law).
The workshop addressed topics such as:- Duties and obligations for different types of bills of lading, including electronic bills of lading.
- Changes related to liability determination.
- Maritime disputes and settlement mechanisms.
- Categories of marine insurance.
- Legal issues concerning cargo insurance claims.
- Regulations on removal of marine debris.
Compliance with Data Protection in Recruitment and Employment Practices:
- This webinar, organized in collaboration with Khalidri Law Firm & Legal Consultants.
It focus on the legal framework for complying with data protection regulations in the UAE.
The workshop covered:-
- The impact of data protection and privacy on companies’ handling of recruitment.
- Maintaining employee records.
- Other human resources activities.
- The legal landscape for employment, selection, and appointment of staff, and managing employment records.
- Transfer of employee data.

This webinar, organized in collaboration with Claut Law Firm.
It aims at explaining the legal liabilities arising from bounced cheques.
In addition to the rights and remedies available to the beneficiary of a cheque in case of dishonor.
