Dubai has established itself as a global travel hub, thanks to its world-leading aviation infrastructure.
Currently Dubai ranks fourth among the most visited cities in the world, with Emirates Airlines playing a key role in India’s GDP growth.
Emirates Airlines extensive network and favorable growth prospects have driven the thriving aviation sector.
While Dubai’s strategic location, just four hours from half the world’s population, makes it an ideal hub for international travel.
Dubai International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports outside the United States.
Also, Dubai Airport was named as the best airport in the world at the 2021 Business Traveller Middle East Awards.
During March 2023, the airport welcomed 7.3 million passengers.
This number is the closest to its pre-COVID-19 peak of 7.8 million passengers in January 2020.

Dubai is the most served international airport in India, currently offering direct flights to 22 cities in India.
Recently, Emirates Airlines announced the introduction of its Premium Economy Class on its India routes, making the travel experience more exciting.
At the same time, Air India has expanded its capacity in Dubai.
Currently Air India is operating 10 flights per day between Delhi and Dubai, and six flights per day between Mumbai and Dubai.
In January 2023, a report by Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism stated that Dubai welcomed about 1.5 million tourists.
And the majority of whom were from India.
Also, the report stated that Dubai is slowly becoming a popular destination for Indians.
Which has led to the launch of many new direct flights between Dubai and various Indian cities.
Now, there are more than 80 daily non-stop flights between Dubai and India.
Furthermore, this number is expected to increase in the coming years only, with the addition of IndiGo’s Bhubaneswar-Dubai route.
The number of Indian airports offering non-stop flights to Dubai has now reached 22.
Some of the main reasons that contribute to the large growth in the number of passengers traveling between India and Dubai include the following:
Economic growth: India and the UAE are experiencing strong economic growth which in turn leads to increased demand for air travel.
Ease of obtaining visas: The UAE has made it easier for Indians to obtain visas for travel and work, making it more convenient for people to travel between the two countries.
Low-cost airlines: Low-cost airlines have made travel between India and Dubai affordable for people.
Direct flights: There are now more direct flights between India and Dubai than ever before.
Tourism: Dubai is a popular tourist destination for Indians, offering a variety of attractions, including shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Family ties: Many Indians have family members living in Dubai, which is a major reason why people travel between the two countries.
Increased capacity: “Airline experts hope that these steps will ultimately meet the urgent need to increase capacity.

A previous study by the Indian National Council for Applied Economic Research found the following:
Annually Emirates Airlines operations contribute more than $848 million to the Indian economy, creating 86,000 Indian jobs.
