DP World and Maspion Group to build a new container terminal in Java, Indonesia.
DP World and Maspion Group have announced that they started the construction of a new container terminal in Gresik, East Java, Indonesia.
The state-of-the-art terminal will strengthen East Java’s position as a major trade gateway.
It will also connect Indonesian businesses to trading partners in the region and around the world.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the terminal was on October 2, 2023 in the presence of the following:
-Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World.
-Dr. Alim Markus, Chairman and CEO of the Maspion Group.
-Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia.
-Septian Hario Seto, Vice Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia.
DP World strong commitment to strengthening the infrastructure and capacity of East Java.
In fact, this strategic partnership reaffirms DP World’s commitment to strengthening the infrastructure and capacity of East Java.
And also reaffirms DP World commitment to facilitating trade in the region.
Moreover, the joint venture company, DP World Maspion East Java, will operate a modern international container terminal.
Mentioning that the design capacity is three million TEUs.
This huge capacity will raise efficiency and operational excellence in Indonesia.
In addition, the joint venture company will develop an integrated industrial and logistics complex.
As part of DP World’s goal of providing integrated supply chain solutions.
While the initial area consists of 110 hectares with the potential to expand in the future.
Indonesia is a major global trade hub with the support of DP World.
