Completing the Hamriyah Port Expansion Project strengthens Dubai’s position as a global maritime hub.
DP World (Dubai Ports World) announced that it is completing the Hamriyah Port expansion project.
The expansion is a significant achievement that strengthens the maritime sector’s infrastructure, enhances operational capacity, and solidifies the port’s position as a vital trade center in the Arabian Gulf, East Africa, and India.
The expansion includes:
- Increasing the quay wall length to 1,150 meters will provide more space for berthing vessels, including traditional Arabian dhows, bulk carriers, and modern RoRo vessels.
- Expanding the port’s quay wall length to 3,140 meters and adding five new berths, bringing the total to 14.
- Increasing the water depth to 8.5 meters to accommodate larger vessels.
- The construction of a new storage yard spanning 86,000 square meters will raise the total storage capacity to 403,400 square meters.
- Equipping the port with the latest maritime equipment, including fenders, barriers, and ramps.
DP World is Enhancing Hamriyah Port’s capabilities to:

In 2023, the port witnessed the arrival of over 4,300 vessels of various types and sizes.
