DP World and Masdar Sign Partnership Agreement to Explore Renewable Energy Systems
DP World and Masdar have signed a partnership agreement to explore and implement renewable energy systems across DP World’s port operations in the Middle East and Africa.
The agreement aims to facilitate the large-scale deployment of renewable energy and battery storage systems within DP World’s global supply chains.
Over a three-year period, DP World and Masdar will collaborate to identify potential sites for the deployment of solar and energy storage systems.
With an initial focus on Saudi Arabia, Senegal, and Egypt.
The partnership seeks to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy systems in DP World’s supply chains.
By sharing knowledge on regulatory frameworks and addressing other challenges, particularly in emerging markets.
Reducing Carbon Footprint.
Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO, said:

DP World works with key stakeholders – from logistics providers to NGOs, governments, and cargo owners.
This is to showcase new technologies and solutions.
And also to share ideas to mitigate the effects of climate change and build resilience.

Decarbonization efforts are a key focus for DP World.
Because the company is committed to become carbon neutral by 2040 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
This is in line with the UN Climate Change Framework Convention’s “Race to Zero” initiative and the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 initiative.
