UAE and Croatia Discuss Croatia Embassy Opening in the UAE.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Andrej Plenković, the Prime Minister of the friendly Republic of Croatia, in Zagreb yesterday.
The meeting, held during Sheikh Abdullah’s official visit to Croatia, focused on pathways for cooperation and partnership between Croatia and UAE.
To support comprehensive development and sustainable economic prosperity.
The two sides discussed opportunities to enhance collaboration across various sectors.
Including the economy, investment, renewable energy, climate change, and all areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Andrej Plenković announced his country intention to open Croatia Embassy in the UAE.
His Excellency emphasized Croatia commitment to deepen relations across different domains.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed his pleasure at visiting Croatia.
His Highness highlighted that the bilateral relations are strong, evolving, and mutually beneficial.
New Memorandums of Understanding
Both countries share a common interest in advancing these relations to new levels of growth and prosperity for their peoples.
Additionally, Sheikh Abdullah and Andrej Plenković discussed several issues of mutual interest and exchanged views.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed his best wishes for Croatia’s progress and well-being.
In a related context, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, signed a memorandum of understanding.
The MoU is between the UAE and Croatia Ministries of Interior regarding mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses.
Furthermore, Sheikh Abdullah and Gordan Grlić Radman, Croatia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, signed another memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the UAE and Croatia Ministries of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was attended by:
- Saed Mubarak Al Hajri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs
- Ahmed Al Attar, the UAE’s non-resident Ambassador to Croatia.
In a separate meeting, Sheikh Abdullah also met with Gordan Grlić-Radman.
They discussed friendship relations and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas related to developmental pathways for both nations.
They also explored opportunities for cooperation in various sectors.
Including the economy, investment, renewable energy, and tourism.

Sheikh Abdullah praised the excellent relations between the two countries.
He also emphasized that Croatia is an important partner for the UAE.
Adding that UAE and Croatia joint commitment aims to leverage all available opportunities for mutual long-term benefits.
The discussions underscore the shared vision for strengthening bilateral ties and achieving common goals.
