Overview about the Chairman of UAE Cybersecurity Council
Dr. Al Kuwaiti has been the Chairman of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government since 2020.
Meanwhile, he serves as Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council and Managing Director of the National Data Centre.
His mandate involves leading the national cyber security strategy.
Positioning the UAE as a global digital leader and enhancing its digital security to manage new threats, especially those exacerbated by the pandemic.
Under his leadership, the UAE rose 42 places to 5th globally in the ITU Global Cybersecurity Index.
Dr. Al Kuwaiti has initiated numerous record-setting cyber security competitions.
He also developed significant public-private partnerships, strengthening the UAE’s digital economy security.
In addition, he holds influential roles internationally, including:
- Vice Chair of the OIC Computer Emergency Response Team
- Co-chair of the Information Sharing Committee in the White House Counter Ransomware Initiative.
Previously, Dr. Al Kuwaiti worked with the National Electronic Security Authority and the Ministry of Interior.

The Chairman of UAE Cybersecurity Council holds a Doctorate in Computer Engineering and Network Security from George Washington University.
