Burjeel Medical City in Mohamed bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi, is embracing and treating numerous Palestinian patients.

As per His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE orders, the UAE is hosting of 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza.
The patients are across all age groups and they are receiving treatment along with all types of necessary healthcare in the UAE’s hospitals.
An initiative that embodies the UAE’s unwavering humanitarian approach of standing by its brothers and sisters and extending a helping hand under all circumstances.
During a field visit to the cancer patients, Dr. Amin Abid, an internal medicine specialist in the oncology department, said:
“The medical city had prepared well to receive the Palestinian patients and their companions, providing them with the best services and exceptional medical care.
He pointed out that the medical clinic provides diagnostic services, examinations, and treatment for 10 to 15 patients daily.
They also receive the needed treatment outside the hospital.
While 12 adult and child patients with tumors requiring intensive medical care have been hospitalized.”

Dr. Abid added: ” the common denominator among all the incoming patients is a long-term stop in treatment.
Which has exceeded 3 months due to the current situation in Gaza Strip.
Even before the war broke out, there was a problem with transferring patients outside Gaza Strip.
In addition to the lack of essential examinations in Gaza hospitals.
Such as CT scans, PET scans, and other radiological examinations.
As well as the lack of essential medicines that were not available there.”
Hospitalized patients at Burjeel Medical City expressed their deep gratitude and happiness for being in the UAE.

Dr. Abid noted that the main reason for the deterioration of the incoming cases is the complete halt in treatment.

And they have started resuming treatment and changing the treatment plans.
Pointing out that some patients underwent emergency surgeries on the first day in addition to resuming radiotherapy for many patients.

95% of cases are back on track for successful treatment and they are receiving full needed medical care.
