Bodour Al Qasimi appoints a director of the House of Wisdom project

Chairman of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority “Shurooq”, Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, issued an administrative decision appointing Marwa Obaid Al Aqroubi as director of the House of Wisdom project developed by Shurooq and provides an example of the future library that integrates in an innovative manner the concepts of the library and the social and cultural meeting and combines sources of knowledge Traditional, digital and smart, between interaction and learning.

House of Wisdom project

Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, had unveiled the House of Wisdom project on the day the Emirate of Sharjah was crowned the world’s highest cultural title, The World Book Capital 2019, by the Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova and it was inaugurated to celebrate the title to preserve meanings of future generations.

The project, designed by the British company “Foster and Partners” specialized in urban development, design and sustainability at the global civilized level, is the first of its kind in the region, as it contains a huge library that will contain 105 thousand books and places for reading in the building’s gardens motivate visitors to continue reading and learning besides providing an electronic application with the various options from books are easy to identify.
