This year, Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid won the “Best Coach in the World” award at the 68th Ballon d’Or ceremony.
But he was absent from the event held at the Châtelet Theater in Paris on Monday.
Ancelotti achievements included: leading Real Madrid to victory in UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and UEFA Super Cup.
Sources revealed that Real Madrid decided at the last-minute to avoid sending a delegation to the ceremony.
This is after they known that their forward, Vinícius Júnior, would not win any award.
