Yas Marina Circuit Provides Thrilling Finishes
The world’s eyes are on Yas Marina Circuit today as Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix brings down the curtain on Abu Dhabi F1 World Championship.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has already secured his fourth world title this season.
The excitement is huge as the driver’s championship has been decided.
Yas Marina Circuit has always provided thrilling finals and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024 will be the same.
McLaren and Ferrari Battle
Although Verstappen clinched the world title at the Las Vegas Grand Prix a couple of weeks ago, there are still plenty of battles to be fought.
All teams are gearing to end the season on a high note in order to carry that momentum into the 2025 season.
The constructors’ standings are the main focus in Abu Dhabi F1, with McLaren and Ferrari locked in a tight battle.
All eyes will be on the drivers from both teams: Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri for McLaren, and Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz for Ferrari.
McLaren currently holds a 21-point lead over Ferrari.
Leclerc faces 10-place grid penalty after the first free practice session.
Adding an extra layer of complexity to Ferrari’s strategy.
Both Ferrari drivers will need to perform exceptionally well to secure the constructors’ championship.
Alpine, Haas, and Honda To Compete at Abu Dhabi F1
Another key battle is for second place in the drivers’ championship between Norris and Leclerc.
Norris currently holds an 8-point advantage.
Piastri and Sainz are also vying for fourth place in Abu Dhabi F1 drivers’ standings.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will also mark the end of Lewis Hamilton’s 12-year stint with Mercedes.
The seven-time world champion will be joining Ferrari next season.
The battle for sixth place in the constructors’ championship is also heating up, with Alpine, Haas, and Honda closely competing.
Finally, the rivalry between Verstappen and Russell, which intensified after Qatar Grand Prix, is expected to continue in Abu Dhabi.
