3 Reasons Behind The Decline in Al Jazira Level and Results
The current season of ADNOC Pro League has witnessed a decline in the level and results of Al Jazira.
Now, Al Jazira occupies the sixth place with 20 points.
At the same time, Al Jazira “Pride of Abu Dhabi” tops the list of teams with the most ball possession in the league with 62%.
Which confirms the quality of its players.
However, several factors have caused the team to lose its competitive edge and drop in the standings, including three major reasons:
1. Technical Instability:
The departure of Dutch coach Marcel Kaizer at the end of last season after four consecutive seasons with the team.
As well as his replacement by compatriot Frank de Boer, who faced some setbacks.
Including a 5-1 loss to Ajman in the 10th round and a 2-4 loss to Khorfakkan in the 6th round.
In addition to De Boer’s departure after the 12th round, and the appointment of Romanian Mircea Radoi to continue the mission.
2. Change of Foreign Players:
Reliance on five new foreign players signed in the current season, which caused the team to lose the required harmony.
This was accompanied by changes in some players’ roles.
Such as Abdullah Ramadan, who was moved from the center to the advanced midfield by decision of Frank de Boer.
This forced Al Jazira to rely on the duo of Fernando and Kolibaly in the center, after relying on Ramadan and Serero for four seasons.
As well as the lack of stability in the defense line, which was led by the same names for several seasons.

3. Decline in the Playing Level of Al Jazira Top Star “Ali Mabkhout”:
Ali Mabkhout is the team’s first star and the historical top scorer for the club and Emirati football.
Despite scoring 9 goals and being second in the league’s top scorers list, his level has declined compared to previous seasons.
Mentioning that Mabkhout is the key to the team’s victories.
He is also the player with the most impact on the results.
