The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE announced on Monday the resumption of air travel between the United Arab Emirates and Syria.
In a statement, the GCAA said:
“Joint coordination is currently underway to complete the necessary procedures to resume flights between the two countries.
In a move that will enhance air connectivity and support passenger and cargo movement.”
Syrian Foreign Minister Confirms the Return of Air Travel between UAE and Syria
Earlier on Monday, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani stated on the platform X (formerly Twitter):
“Thanks to the efforts of President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, significant achievements have been made today in the UAE.
Especially in the areas of investment, the resumption of air travel, and strengthening bilateral relations across all sectors.”
Interim President of the current Syrian administration, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, made his first official visit to the UAE on Sunday.
Where he met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed during a reception at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed that the UAE “will spare no effort in providing all possible support to Syria and its people in the coming period.”
Reiterating the UAE’s “firm stance in support of Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.”
Sheikh Mohamed also expressed his “best wishes for Al-Sharaa’s success in leading his country.
Through the coming phase and in fulfilling the aspirations of the Syrian people for development, security, and stability.”

Air Travel with Flydubai to Syria
A spokesperson for Flydubai affirmed that the company will operate flights to Syria, he said:
“We welcome the recent announcement, which reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthening air connectivity in the region.
We continue to coordinate closely with relevant authorities.
Any procedures related to the resumption of flights to Syria will be announced once all preparations and necessary approvals are completed.”
