Dr. Kamal bin Abdullah Al Hamad, Secretary General of the Commercial Arbitration Center for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, announced that now AI used in GCC Commercial Arbitration Center.
The center has begun developing a mechanism to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) in improving international commercial arbitration processes.
This move aligns with national visions in the GCC countries and the trend towards leveraging AI in digital transformation.
And also in various sectors development in order to boost service levels, productivity, and competitiveness.
More accurate Arbitration Decisions
Dr. Al Hamad held a working meeting with Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAYA).
They discussed strengthening joint cooperation in deploying advanced technologies in the legal industry.
They also reviewed significant progress made in data analysis.
In addition to achieving more accurate arbitration decisions through adopting legal programs and tools.
That mimic human intelligence and using machine learning to improve and simplify legal and arbitration processes.
The meeting also explored establishing a joint mechanism to develop a legislative plan.
Which define the scope of AI technologies in arbitration and dispute settlement.
As well as proposing legal rules and technical standards for identifying parties and evidence.
Despite these challenges, increased use of AI technology in international commercial arbitration is likely in the coming years.
As these technologies continue to develop, they will become more efficient and effective, leading to overall improvement in the arbitration process.

Dr. Al Hamad commended SDAYA’s role as a national reference in Saudi Arabia for everything related to regulation, development, and interaction with data and AI.
He highlighted the need for training and qualification of arbitrators and legal professionals in the GCC countries.

Dr. Al Hamad emphasized that “92% of legal institutions and judicial bodies worldwide plan to increase their use of AI in legal and legislative analyses of cases next year.
While 68% of judicial institutions already rely on AI in their work, according to a recent study conducted by LexisNexis.”
Dr. Al Hamad highlighted the immense potential of AI technologies.
Which have permeated all sectors worldwide, to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of commercial arbitration processes in the GCC countries.
He explained that these AI-powered programs streamline workflow for better management, facilitating and speeding up operations in arbitration centers.
This is achieved through:

- Analyzing evidence and statements quickly and effectively, extracting patterns and trends to provide strategic insights for arbitrators to support their decision-making process.
