AI-based solutions to reduce emissions and enhance sustainability
The CSO Network (Chief Sustainability Officers Network) has announced the launch of “AI for Sustainability Hub”.
This was during the second edition of the “Global Sustainability Forum.”
The forum took place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in collaboration with the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: ICE).
The new center aims to provide a vital platform for collaboration among governments, the private sector, and academic institutions.
So they can develop AI-based solutions to reduce emissions and enhance sustainability across various sectors.
And also to support the achievement of the historic “UAE Accord” signed at the conclusion of COP28.
Urgent climate and environmental challenges
Under the theme “AI for Climate and Nature,” the event brought together government officials and CEOs.
As well as advanced technology providers, private sector leaders, and innovators to accelerate sustainable technology solutions.
The discussions focused on urgent climate and environmental challenges.
Considering the UAE as a starting point for driving practical, technology-based solutions.
The opening keynote session title is “The Role of Advanced Technologies in Achieving Sustainability Goals”.
It featured distinguished guests, including HE Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Government Relations.
Following the keynote, an extensive dialogue took place with HE Thoriq Ibrahim, Minister of Climate Change, Environment, and Energy in the Maldives.
His Excellency discussed “Sustainability in Small Island Developing States.”

Dr. Yassir Jarrar, Secretary-General of the CSO Network and Managing Partner at Postery Institute, stated:

Maximize the investment in AI capabilities
He emphasized that partnerships with companies like IBM and other technology allies will maximize the investment in AI capabilities.
Including deep learning and natural language processing, to address pressing sustainability challenges of our time.
The forum also explored the transformative role of data in identifying climate risks.
In addition, it highlighted the importance of AI in analyzing natural phenomena and documenting biodiversity.
Additionally, it underscored the significance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and nature-based solutions in safeguarding the environment on a global scale.
