The final phase of the AFC Pro Coaching Course ends next Sunday.
The seventh and final phase of the AFC Pro Coaching Course was conducted in cooperation between the UAE and Asian Football Federations.
Next Sunday will be the last day of the course and will take place at the Millennium Hotel in Dubai.
27 coaches are seeking a Pro license.
Twenty-seven coaches are striving to pass the final exams to obtain the Pro License.
The Pro License qualifies them to coach professional club teams, national teams, reserve teams, and youth teams.
This is surely according to the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) requirements.
Course Highlights
The seventh phase began on May 20th.
The course supervisors and lecturers include the AFC-accredited instructors:
- Jamal Al Hassani
- Abdul Majeed Al Nemer
- The Belgian instructor Christian Van Der Heyden.
The first phase of the Asian course was from September 22nd to 28th, 2023, and was monitored by a delegation composed of Frenchman Nasser Larguet, Technical Director of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, and Uzbek Osman Toshpulatov, members of the AFC’s Coaching Education Committee.
A thorough evaluation of the AFC Pro Coaching Course curriculum is being conducted.
The evaluation will ensure its compliance with the “local” self-learning independence agreement signed between the UAE and Asian Federations in December 2019.
Paulo Bento shares his expertise at the AFC Pro Coaching Course
Portuguese coach Paulo Bento, manager of the UAE national team, participated in the course.
He shared his extensive experience coaching clubs and national teams with the participating coaches.
Bento delivered a lecture yesterday, during which he answered questions from participants in the Asian course.
The questions covered the following topics:
- Differences between coaching clubs and national teams
- How to deal with players
- The important role of communication
- Managing and leading the technical staff during training sessions
- Friendly and official matches
- How to plan weekly training sessions, drills, and technical analysis.
