What are the Amendments Made on the UAE’s Traffic Regulation ?
- The law sets the minimum age for obtaining a driver’s license at 17 years old.
- Strict penalties are imposed for driving without a valid license.
Including up to three months of imprisonment and a fine of up to AED 100,000. - If a driver causes a fatal accident by running a red light, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or driving with a suspended or revoked license, the penalty is at least one year of imprisonment and a fine of no less than AED 100,000.

Executive Regulations
The Ministry of Interior stated that the law aligns with technological advancements in traffic, vehicles, and road systems.
While the executive regulations for the law are expected to be issued within six months.

What are Abu Dhabi Highways that Are Under Speed Limit Reduction ?
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) announced, via its “Abu Dhabi Mobility” account on X (formerly Twitter), a speed limit reduction on both Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road and Abu Dhabi–Sweihan Road.
The speed limit on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road (E11) has been reduced from 160 km/h to 140 km/h, effective April 14.
Additionally, the speed limit on Abu Dhabi–Sweihan Road (International Airport Road, E20) has been reduced from 120 km/h to 100 km/h, also starting April 14.
