Abu Dhabi Gearing Up to Host the 8th Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship
Abu Dhabi is intensifying its preparations to host the 8th edition of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship for adults, youth, and juniors.
Which will take place from May 3 to 8 at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City.
Moreover, Abu Dhabi has a rich history of hosting the strongest and most successful international jiu-jitsu championships.
Attracting the best athletes and fans from around the world.
Excellence and Brilliance in Organizing Sports Events
The championship is organized by the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
Abdulla Salem Al Zaabi, Head of Events and Activities at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, affirmed that Abu Dhabi has become synonymous with excellence and brilliance in organizing sports events according to the highest international standards.
Preparations are in full swing in coordination with partner entities.
Including Abu Dhabi Police, Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi Airports, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and others.
The championship will see the participation of around 300 volunteers, who will receive guests at the airports and guide them to designated hotels.
Full Care Of The Participating Teams
The organizing committee has been keen to provide dedicated training areas for the participating teams before the start of the competitions.
As well as comprehensive medical services from a fully equipped clinic and ambulances.
The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation is also collaborating with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
In order to organize a number of accompanying events, including an entertainment area and a number of heritage events.
Al Zaabi expressed his happiness at cooperating with the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation to achieve an exceptional level that surpasses previous editions in all aspects.
Hosting this important championship for the second time in 3 years reflects Abu Dhabi’s keenness to support and promote this sport and enhance its continental spread.
The Largest Sporting Event in Asia Will be in Abu Dhabi
For his part, Alexander Nascimento, Chairman of the Referees and Competition Director for the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, said:
“The championship is the largest sporting event in Asia since the launch of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championships 8 years ago.

The championship will see a record participation of 1500 athletes from more than 30 countries competing over 6 days.
Which has prompted us to hold the competitions on five mats to accommodate this large number of participants.
The championship will be attended by 30 referees in addition to 30 support staff who will manage the matches and issue the results.”
