Abu Dhabi Airports Appointed A New CEO
The new CEO was serving as the Acting CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports since June 2023.
In this role, she has overseen the successful opening of the new Midfield Terminal Building at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Which is one of the largest airport terminals in the world.
The terminal has a capacity of 45 million passengers per year and can accommodate 79 aircraft at any time.
And that’s will boost the contribution of the aviation sector to Abu Dhabi’s diversified economy.
In addition, the new CEO has played a key role in maintaining the growth in passenger traffic, which continues to see annual increases.
As well as attracting new airlines and routes to Abu Dhabi, including the French national carrier Air France.
Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan Welcomes Abu Dhabi Airports New CEO
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Special Advisor to the Presidential Court and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, said:

About Elena Sorlini
Sorlini has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry.
Prior to joining Abu Dhabi Airports, she held several senior management positions, including:
- Managing Director of the Transport and Logistics Portfolio at ADQ
- Deputy Group Chief Strategy Officer at Oman Air
- Strategy Director at Copenhagen Airports
She previously held the position of Vice President at Macquarie Airports, one of the largest private airport owners and operators in the world.
She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, and ADQ for Aviation and Aerospace Services.
