Expo City Dubai has launched a new program under the banner of “the Changemakers Academy”.
This program will empower Emirati university students and recent graduates to establish their own businesses.
The program received 148 applications, and the selected projects will be invited to a kick-off event on May 3 to help participants further develop and refine their ideas.
Moreover, the selected final projects will receive grants of up to AED 50,000.
Along with support for business establishment—including licensing, visas, and office space within Expo City Dubai.
The Changemakers Academy Welcomes Innovative Ideas
The Changemakers Academy received overwhelming interest from students and fresh graduates across the UAE.
It’s designed to encourage bold solutions to social and environmental challenges.
With a focus on issues particularly relevant to the UAE such as urban mobility and mental health.
As part of a broader business incubation initiative.
Through an open call for final-year students and recent graduates from UAE universities, the program invites innovative ideas that can be developed into full-scale solutions.
This initiative aims to build community impact by enabling the next generation of changemakers.

What Are the Benefits of Expo City Dubai Program for Students and Graduates ?
Beyond financial grants of up to AED 50,000, selected participants will also receive mentorship, exposure to investors, and practical support for establishing their businesses.
This includes assistance with licensing and visas.
As well as office space in Expo City Dubai, which is an exceptional opportunity for aspiring young entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into viable ventures.
The Changemakers Academy is a program by the non-profit Expo City Dubai Foundation.
Launched in June 2024 to bridge people, ideas, and resources.

- Enhancing traffic flow and urban mobility
- Mental wellness
- Work-life balance
- Environmental responsibility
- Better inclusion of people of determination and older people

Expo City Dubai hosts a number of institutions focused on the future, including the “Innovation Hub” by Emirates Group.
As well as the Urban Lab which is a city-scale testbed for urban development technologies.
The city aims to be a destination for entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers.
