New Training Program by Mohamed bin Zayed AI and Heriot-Watt – Dubai
Mohamed bin Zayed AI University and Heriot-Watt Dubai University have concluded a cooperation agreement.
Both universities will establish an international center to train doctoral students on robotics and artificial intelligence in the UAE.
The center will be launched by January 2025.
International Cooperation
According to the agreement, the students can receive support and supervision from members of the academic body at both universities.
The students will also benefit from facilities and courses at them and at the Heriot-Watt branch in Edinburgh.
Professor Heather MacGregor, Dean and Vice President of the University of Heriot-Watt Dubai, confirmed his pleasure with this cooperation, which will be for outstanding artificial intelligence and will promote sharing among both academic bodies.
It will also support the state’s Artificial Intelligence National Strategy, which aims to strengthen the UAE’s leading position in artificial intelligence by 2031.
Supporting Artificial Intelligence National Strategy
The center would be able to include and support up to 60 PhD students.
It also aims at building capacity and intellectual property in the UAE.
The center’s name will be “Technology Development,” and the University of Heriot-Watt will host it.
Mentioning that it will attract Scottish expertise to the United Arab Emirates.
It will also strengthen the UAE’s leadership in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) by 2031.
The University of Heriot-Watt President stated that the program would be taught to doctoral students at the Center for four years.
And it will include theoretical courses and practical training.
As well as annual conferences and workshops in the United Arab Emirates and Scotland.
