Emirates Airlines Services for Muslim Passengers in Ramadan
Emirates Airlines services will be special during the holy month of Ramadan.
Moreover, the airline will offer thousands of Ramadan meal boxes to fasting passengers on board and at boarding gates.
It will also serve traditional Ramadan dishes in its lounges, and enhance religious content and programs on its ice inflight entertainment system.
Iftar and Imsak Alerts
To ensure the highest level of accuracy for fasting passengers, Emirates uses a unique tool to calculate the times of iftar and imsak during the flight.
This is based on the sunrise and sunset times at the location the aircraft is flying over using latitude, longitude, and the aircraft’s altitude.
The captain announces these times to the passengers.
Starting from March 11, customers in all classes on selected flights will receive nutritionally balanced Ramadan meals.
Iftar meals will be served in special boxes designed by Emirates to reflect the rich Emirati heritage of Sadu weaving.
This reflects the community aspect of Ramadan given the importance of this traditional craft in Emirati society.
It is one of the most prominent crafts that plays a fundamental role in the lives of Bedouins.
The practice of this craft by Bedouin women is one of the valuable economic contributions they make to society.
It also played a major role in the social life of Emirati women.
Women used to make soft furnishings and cushions decorated with distinctive geometric patterns.
Umrah Groups
Ramadan meal boxes will be offered on flights serving Umrah groups to Jeddah and Medina during Ramadan.
Each pilgrim on return flights from Saudi Arabia airports can carry one 5-liter bottle of Zamzam water.
Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system will feature special religious content during the holy month.
This includes Journey of Life, Caravans of the Sky, They are the Age, Fatwas, Empty Days, content in Urdu and Hindi, and Quran recitations.
A range of new series and dramas from Shahid and MBC will also be available.
In addition to the most famous Turkish series dubbed in Arabic.
More than 6500 on-demand channels will be also available.
