Emiratis wishing to travel to Lebanon can now do so from Tuesday, October 8 for ailing economy

Abdelrahman

Dubai: The UAE has lifted the travel ban on Emiratis wishing to travel to Lebanon from Tuesdayas Beirut government sought UAE help in steering the heavily indebted economy out of deep crisis.  The UAE barred its citizens from traveling to Lebanon in 2016.  In November 2017, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait warned their citizens against traveling to Lebanon amid a Lebanese-Saudi crisis sparked by Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s controversial resignation announcement in Riyadh, but he rescinded soon later.

Crown Prince Mohammed “stressed during the meeting that the UAE is keen on supporting its relationships with Lebanon on different levels, and stands by it in all that preserves its security and stability.

When asked earlier on Monday whether Lebanon would receive an injection of cash into its central bank from the UAE, Hariri said: “We were promised financial assistance that will revive the Lebanese economy, he also said soon you will hear very excellent news, be it in the matter of investment or aid, we are working on everything Yes, we are hoping, we will work on it.”
