UAE national esports team captain, Ahmed Al Suwaidi, has successfully claimed the title of the first edition of Hafeet Sports Challenge.
The tournament featured 220 players, competing in 222 matches.
It began online and culminated in the finals held last night at the Chairman’s Hall in Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.
The final rounds were attended by Salem bin Hadhairm Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Hafeet Sports Challenge.
Along with Rashed Abdullah, the tournament director, members of the Supreme Organizing Committee.
As well as officials from Al Ain Municipality and Al Ain Club, and a large audience of esports enthusiasts.

High-Level Competition Among Elite Players
The tournament brought together the best PlayStation players from the UAE and the Middle East.
- Ahmed Al Suwaidi advanced to the semifinals after defeating Pakistani player Mohammed Mahd.
- Muhanad Al Masmari secured his spot in the final after overcoming Ali Al Hammadi.
In a thrilling final match, Al Suwaidi defeated Al Masmari 5-3, officially claiming the championship title and proving himself deserving of the victory.

Ahmed Al Suwaidi expressed his joy and pride in winning the title and being associated with the first-ever Hafeet Sports Challenge.
The challenge offered one of the largest prize pools in UAE esports history.
He thanked the Supreme Organizing Committee for their professional organization, ensuring the tournament’s success.

Since turning professional in 2022, Al Suwaidi has achieved major milestones, including:
- Representing the UAE at the FIFAe Nations Cup, where the team ranked among the top 16 in the world.
- Winning silver in the 2022 UAE eLeague.
- Finishing second in the Esports Olympics.
- Claiming the Middle East Championship titles in 2023 and 2024.
- Winning the 2024 UAE eLeague Championship.
