In alignment with the announcement of 2025 as the Year of Community, and under the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Government has approved a flexible work and remote work policy for Ramadan 2025.

This new policy applies to all government employees in the emirate.
It reflects Dubai’s commitment to ensuring a comfortable work environment for employees, while reinforcing social values during important occasions.

Dubai work policy ensures that remote work does not disrupt operations.
As each department will assess the nature of tasks and business needs before approving flexible arrangements.

Dubai Policy Applies Flexible Work Hours for Government Employees

Dubai work policy introduces flexibility in Ramadan work hours, as employees can enjoy flexible hours of up to three hours daily.
Mentioning that they must complete 5.5 working hours from Monday to Thursday and 3 hours on Fridays.
While remote work is allowed up to two days per week, based on job requirements and approval from direct managers.

What are the Official Work Hours in Ramadan 2025 ?

According to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources circular, the working hours for federal ministries and entities during Ramadan will be as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

These hours apply to all federal government employees, except for those whose job roles require alternative schedules due to the nature of their work.

Federal employees can look forward to a balanced schedule.
That allows them to fulfill their professional responsibilities while observing the holy month.
