Leading the Lineup of Dubai Sports Events
Dubai is hosting more than 20 competitive and community sports events this week in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council.
These events are spread across various locations in the city and are expected to attract a large audience.
Leading the lineup are:
- Dubai International Basketball Championship.
- L’Étape Dubai 2025 cycling race from Tour de France
- Dubai Silver Cup for Polo
Dubai International Basketball Championship
The 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship is ongoing at Rashid bin Hamdan Hall at Al Nasr Club.
The quarterfinal matches continue today, with the UAE national team facing Libya’s Al Ahly Tripoli.
While Beirut and Al Hikma from Lebanon compete in another match.
A total of 10 teams, both international and local, are participating in the tournament:

- Jordan’s Amman Club
- Lebanon’s Beirut Club
- Philippines’ Strong Group
- Tunisian national team
- Sharjah Club
- Libya’s Al Ahly Tripoli
- Lebanon’s Al Hikma Club

L’Étape Dubai
L’Étape Dubai cycling race, part of Tour de France series, will take place on February 1-2.
The event will feature international stars and former Tour de France winners, including Jan Svorada and Peter Fleischer.
The race will pass through some of Dubai’s most prominent tourist and residential areas.
Including Al Marmoom, which is home to the world’s largest natural reserve.
Before concluding at Expo Dubai, a global hub for international, economic, and sporting events.
Dubai Silver Cup for Polo
Dubai Silver Cup for Polo, one of the key tournaments in Dubai Gold Cup Series, is taking place at Al Habtoor Polo & Equestrian Club.
The competition features five teams with a handicap of 20 goals.
The finals and the third-place match are scheduled for Saturday.
With UAE Polo Team facing Dubai Wolves in the final.
While Al Habtoor Polo will compete against Ghantoot Polo for third place.
Dubai Maritime Day
Dubai International Marine Club is organizing Dubai Maritime Day events on Saturday and Sunday at Jumeirah Beach.
Activities will include:
- The first round of UAE Modern Rowing Championship 2025
- The second round of the UAE Sailing Championship
- The first round of the UAE Kayak Fishing Championship.

Hamdan Sports Complex will host the second competitive Swimming Cup and DASSA Swimming Championship.
Additionally, the Ultimate Run took place yesterday (Friday) at Dubai International Academy.
While the Tactical Teams Mountain Bike Race will be held today at the Training City in Al Ruwayyah, Hind City 1.
The UAE Martial Arts League continues, alongside the sixth edition of the Workers’ Sports Tournament at Dubai Holding’s facilities.
