Japanese Ambassador Expresses Deep Gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed
HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of State, awarded the Medal of Independence, First Class, to Akio Isomata, the Japanese Ambassador to the UAE.
As a recognition of his efforts to strengthen the relations of UAE and Japan across various fields during his tenure.
Minister of State Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh presented the medal to Ambassador Isomata at a reception ceremony.
The ceremony was held at Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy in Abu Dhabi.
During the ceremony, Al Sayegh extended his best wishes to Isomata for his future endeavors.
He also praised his role in supporting the strong ties between the UAE and Japan across many sectors.
The Japanese Ambassador expressed his deep gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Moreover, he commended the UAE’s impressive progress and achievements.
He also thanked the UAE government for its continuous support throughout his tenure.
As this support helped him in fulfilling his duties and strengthening the bilateral relations.
Who is Akio Isomata ?
Akio Isomata has been serving as the Japanese Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
His diplomatic efforts have focused on strengthening economic, cultural, and environmental partnerships between the two nations.
During his tenure, Japan and the UAE have collaborated in various projects.
Including energy transition projects like Global Green Energy Hub.
This project aims to make the Middle East a leader in clean energy solutions.
Japan and the UAE have also developed Joint Crediting Mechanism system to support emissions reduction through cooperative projects.

Encouraging “People-to-People” Connections
Japanese Ambassador “Akio Isomata” has also encouraged educational and cultural exchanges.
This was through programs bringing Emirati students to Japan for internships and study.
As he believes in the importance of “people-to-people” connections, the foundation of long-term bilateral relation.
Recently, Japan government decided to give UAE citizens visa-free access.
Mentioning that UAE is the first Gulf country to receive this privilege.
