White Cane Safety Day Celebrated by Zayed Higher Organization

The Blind Care Department of the Zayed Higher Organization cooperated with the management of the Indian Palace restaurant.
In order to celebrate White Cane Safety Day by organizing a number of awareness and educational activities.

These activities included a panel discussion with a number of visually impaired people and their families about the achievements of them.
As well as the challenges they face in integrating into society, how they overcame them.
In addition to the role of the white cane in the life of a visually impaired person.

Moreover, there was a presentation for a menu in Arabic and English and an electronic version compatible with the devices and programs of visually impaired people in Braille.
It was presented to the restaurant management by Naema Abdulrahman Al Mansouri, Director of the Blind Care Department at ZHO

The Blind Care Department also organized an awareness workshop on how to interact with visually impaired people for the University of Mohamed bin Zayed.
This workshop was in coordination and cooperation with the Training Department of the ZHO.
And it was presented by Hisham Al Wahedi, one of the staff members of the department who is visually impaired.

All categories covered by ZHO enjoy the best care and attention as per the directives of our wise leadership, especially the visually impaired.

Abdullah Ismail Al Kamali, Executive Director of the Disability Sector at the ZHO stressed the following:

“All categories covered by the organization enjoy the best care and attention, especially the visually impaired.
Because ZHO implements the directives of our wise leadership from a standpoint of social responsibility.
And also from the role of the organization and its performance of its tasks towards people with disabilities.

He said that the purpose of White Cane Safety Day is to express the interest of all institutions.
As well as all the countries of the world in the visually impaired category.
This is in terms of providing services to them at all levels.

By equating them with ordinary individuals in their rights and duties.
And also by securing their needs that contribute to increasing their capabilities.
In addition to giving them the opportunity to integrate into their communities as contributing individuals in their construction and progress.
