The decision, which was circulated to all UAE ministries, and federal authorities, comes within the framework of enhancing the continuity of government work, the gradual return of employees and the provision of government services, in parallel with the implementation of the remote work system for workers who are excluded from the decision, with the need to adhere to preventive and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the new Coronavirus.

Who is excluded from returning work?

The decision identified a number of groups whose exception is their return to work and the application of a remote work system for them, which includes pregnant women, people of determination, those with chronic diseases and immune deficiencies, and those who suffer from respiratory symptoms such as asthma and diabetes, according to approved medical reports, along with senior citizens and female employees.

Those who take care of their children from the ninth grade in the third seminar or less until the end of the current school year, as well as those who have children in foster care or take care of at home whose health condition requires permanent care under emergency conditions.

The decision also specified the exclusion of employees who live with the groups most vulnerable to health risks in the same housing and who are in close contacts with them, such as the elderly, those suffering from chronic diseases or weak immunity, and people of determination.

National precautionary measures and procedures

The decision obligated all federal entities when implementing the gradual return of employees to their workplaces, the necessity of taking precautionary health measures related to the social spacing between employees and the readiness of workplaces and offices and preparing them to receive employees and customers in accordance with national precautionary measures and procedures, along with a commitment to optimal planning to ensure the presence of technical infrastructure and electronic supportive systems To work remotely for the excluded groups and to apply a flexible shift system with regard to attendance and departure to preserve the safety of employees in entering and leaving the workplace.

Arrangements for returning work

The decision also specified a review of the application of attendance and the precautionary measures associated with it every week, while the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources will issue detailed regulations that will be circulated at a later time to all government agencies on the details of arrangements for returning work in the agencies and detailed implementation mechanisms.

Earlier today, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, approved a decision to return work in Dubai government departments by 50% from next Sunday.

Today, the UAE announced that it had conducted more than 27,000 tests for the Coronavirus and 883 new infections had been detected. In addition, 389 new healing cases were recorded, bringing the number of healing cases to more than 16,000.
