UAE Public awareness will save lives

The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced an online platform to spread awareness. Known as “Weqaya”, this new online platform is aimed at raising levels of awareness about the Coronavirus. NCEMA is hoping that the new Weaqaya platform will serve as a hub to provide comprehensive information on the spread of the virus. The program will also provide regular updates on the pandemic.

Dr. Farida Al Hosani, who is the spokesperson for the UAE health sector thinks the website is a powerful move in the right direction. She thanked citizens for their efforts to work from home and asked that they continue to follow the government advice during the quarantine period.

“I assure you that the ongoing measures aim to protect your safety and wellbeing and that of senior citizens and senior residents. Your health is a priority”, said Dr. Al Hosani.

A Weqaya Field Team assembled. The team comprised of volunteers from all walks of life and backgrounds in the UAE. Their goal is to spread public awareness campaigns among people of all kinds.

Weqaya offers online healthcare facilities

The new Weqaya service is also bringing online healthcare available to more people. Users of the service will be able to submit their medical questions via the website, which will then be answered by medical experts and healthcare professionals.

Online healthcare is more important than ever during this outbreak. The Coronavirus is incredibly infectious and primarily spreads by a person to person contact. Reducing interaction with other people is a key strategy in preventing the spread of the virus.
