Dubai Museum

This museum is located in the Bur Dubai tourism area, specifically within the Al Fahidi Fort which is the oldest building in the emirate. The building established in 1787 to act as a bulwark to protect the area, and the place was restored to a museum in 1971. When you visit the museum, you will be familiar with the ancient history of Dubai. The old lifestyle, designs of homes, markets, and mosques at the time. The museum also contains artefacts and weapons and highlights the period of pearl mining and trade in Dubai.

Coffee Museum

This interesting museum displays the history of coffee and the different ways in which it was made around the world. As it displays special tools and different in manufacture in addition to some historical documents related to coffee; after completing your tour in the museum you can try some samples in the roasting pavilion.

Coin Museum

This museum displays approximately 500 currencies from all over the Middle East and contains seven exhibition rooms. Although it may not seem to one that this museum is the coolest, the coins tell the story of Dubai‘s commercial history, which adds a lot to the museum.

  • Location: Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, next to Al Farouq Mosque.
  • Hours of Operation: From 8:00 am – 10:00 pm Saturday to Thursday.

Heritage and diving village

This “living” museum is located next to the creek, and it is used by guides, potters, weavers, and other craftsmen as they focus on Dubai‘s marine past and depict the living conditions of the original sailors who combed the Gulf waters in search of pearls and fish for trade.

The museum displays a graphic but interestingly, the history of the pearl industry in Dubai. There is a village of tents that gives a glimpse into the life of the Bedouins, which remained the same until late in the twentieth century. Traditional celebrations also occur during religious holidays, in the museum, such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, such as sword dancing and weddings, and during that time we find divers telling stories of their adventures and the difficulties they faced.
