Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund Supported With $40 Million
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, made a contribution of US $40 million to Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund.
H.E. Razan Al Mubarak, Director General of Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation announced this at 2024 World Asian Humanitarian Business Conference.
Which concluded its work yesterday at the St. Regis Hotel on Saal SaSaadiyat abi Island adiyat abi.
Fund’s moratorium Will Increase to Over $70 million by 2028.
Mohamed bin Zayed Conservation Fund was established as per HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed orders in 2009.
Moreover, it supported an integrated conservation program in 170 countries.
This new support is expected to contribute to increasing the Fund’s moratorium to over US $70 million by 2028.
In her speech, Her Excellency Razan Al Mubarak said:
“The establishment of the Fund and the additional support for the moratorium reflected the keen interest of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed in nature conservation.
It is also underscoring the UAE long-term commitment to the protection of nature and conservation of species.”
The decision was based on a review of the Fund’s work and achievements.
Since its inception, the grant program has supported species conservation programs in 170 different countries on seven continents, including Antarctica.
A Lifeline for Conservationists and Living Organisms
For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Al-Bawardi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mohamed bin Zayed Conservation Fund, said:
“This contribution comes at a time when species and conservationists need greater support than ever before.”

He added: “Living species are being extinct at an unprecedented rate of concern.
Confronting the extinction crisis is not only a moral obligation.
But also a necessity from the perspective of our interest as human beings in preserving the nature on which we all depend for our continued well-being and prosperity.
From this standpoint, the Fund and its grants have served as a lifeline for conservationists and living organisms.
As they usually have challenging and sometimes even hazardous conditions.”
He stressed that the new contribution of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed to Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund is to ensure that the moratorium continues and lasts, with a positive impact that will continue to reverberate in the future.
