Al Tayer said: This project comes within the comprehensive plan that the Authority has developed to develop the maritime transport system.

Also it constitutes a qualitative addition to the maritime transport sector in the Emirate of Dubai.
The plan includes the development of four stations:
-Bur Dubai Model Station.
–Deira Old Souq Station.
-Dubai Old Souq Station.
-Sabkha Station.
He stressed that the maritime transport sector is witnessing continuous growth.
The growth is in the number of means of transport, stations, and passengers.
This is due to the launch of Dubai Water Canal, which connects Dubai Creek to the coastal area.
This sector will get stronger with the completion of the construction of urban and tourist facilities on the sides of the canal.
As well as the construction of maritime transport stations in the canal.
Marine transport will be the preferable choice for many citizens, residents, and tourists.
As they can enjoy the sight of the tourist and urban facilities on the banks of Dubai Creek, Dubai Water Canal, and Dubai beaches.

He added: The works of developing the Bur Dubai Model Station took into account the preservation of the heritage identity.
It included providing facilities for customers, a shaded outdoor area, and investment sites that serve abra users and visitors to the area.
