UAE participated in the 37th Francophone Conference Session

The UAE took part in the 37th Francophone Conference session that Tunisia is currently hosting, which is being held for the first time remotely because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the country’s taking part delegation is headed by His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Minister of State.

His Excellency said: Our meeting coincides with the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the Bamako Declaration and the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the organization, and that we in the UAE are proud to be part of this ancient organization and strive to work to strengthen our relations with members of the large Francophone family.

His Excellency added: The UAE has shown to the world that practical solidarity with friendly peoples and governments without distinguishing between humanitarian and political stances within the framework of humanitarian principles and practical and moral solidarity with friendly peoples and governments as soon as the new Coronavirus invades the countries of the world.

Francophone Conference discussed COVID-19 pandemic

His Excellency showed the UAE is one of the first countries that helped provide basic medical supplies and equipment, enhance the capabilities of medical workers, improve health services, and address the social, economic, and financial effects of this pandemic on member states, by sending humanitarian aid to 120 countries, including member states in The organization, transporting over 1,613 tons of medical and health aid, serves over 1.6 million medical care workers, by operating 167 flights.

Nusseibeh added: The elimination of this COVID-19 requires us powerful will, teamwork, and awareness of the stage, and we are confident that The Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie and its member states have a pivotal role in facing the challenges facing the world.

His Excellency said: Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie will take part in Expo 2020 Dubai for the first time in its history, and the participants will contribute to supporting the organization and enhancing its presence and role in the international arena, and I am also honored in this context to invite all countries and government members of the organization to take part in Expo 2020 Dubai and work to support the participation of our organization by coordinating with the General Secretariat and preparing joint programs and events.
