Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy Supports Promising Digital Startups

Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, supported 215 promising digital startups to establish and grow their businesses in the emirate during the first half of 2024.

This represents a 212% increase compared to 69 digital startups supported during the same period last year.
The total market value of these companies is approximately $7 billion.

During the first half of this year, the chamber trained 243 Emiratis.
This training was part of “Create Apps in Dubai” initiative launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and led by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.

This event, scheduled for October, is considered the largest gathering of startups and investors worldwide.

Additionally, the chamber strengthened its presence as an organizer, supporter, and strategic partner.
This is for 15 local and international events during the first half of the year.

Dubai … the global capital of the digital economy

H.E Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, stated:

“In line with HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum vision to enhance Dubai’s position as a global capital for the digital economy…

We continue our development of an ecosystem that promotes the growth of digital startups and supports their expansion.
Which also positions Dubai as the global capital of the digital economy.

Create Apps in Dubai

“Create Apps in Dubai” initiative aims to develop the skills of national digital talents and to train 1,000 Emirati citizens.
In collaboration with the private sector, the initiative seeks to triple the number of app developers in Dubai by 2025.
It also aims to support 100 new digital startups by launching their applications in digital stores.

Led by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, the initiative aims to capitalize on new growth opportunities in the sector.
This is by establishing a strong digital infrastructure and creating a legislative framework that supports app development.
And also by providing government incentives to accelerate the sector’s growth, in line with the chamber’s strategic goals.

Memorandums of understanding to enhance digital startups growth

During the first half of this year, the chamber signed four memorandums of understanding with various partners.
This is to enhance the environment conducive to the growth of technological and digital companies in Dubai.

This includes an MoU with Enterprise Ireland, the Irish government agency for trade and innovation.
That is the largest venture capital organization in Europe by the number of deals.

This strategic partnership aims to enhance business opportunities, expansion, and mutual cooperation between companies in Dubai and Ireland, with a focus on the digital sector.
