Those projects and programs have a positive impact on humanity.
The UAE’s space sector has continued to build on past achievements with qualified national cadres leading the country’s aspirations in this field.
What are the UAE Accomplishments in Space Sector for 2024 ?
By the beginning of 2024,the UAE joined a project to develop and establish the lunar space station “Gateway”.
Alongside the USA, Japan, Canada, and the European Union.
The first Emirati and Arab astronaut has also visited the lunar orbit.
With the UAE responsible for operating the station’s pressure equalization unit for up to 15 years.
The UAE’s mission to explore the asteroid belt completed its initial mission design review.
While the UAE Space Agency signed an agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to launch “Mohammed bin Rashid Explorer” spacecraft services in 2028.
Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure launched the Astrolabe project to employ satellite technology and advanced industries in maritime.
MBRSC and Hope Probe
Hope Probe scientific missions published observations of Mars’ dark side aurora.
It also contributed to understand how Mars loses its water.
Adding that Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre announced the start of the second UAE space simulation study, part of NASA’s HERA research.
It also began developing the HCT-Sat 1 satellite for earth observation.
Yahsat
When it comes to Yahsat, it signed a contract with SpaceX to launch its new geostationary satellites, AY4 and AY5.
It also launched the first radar satellite of the UAE’s ambitious earth observation program in collaboration with Bayanat in August.
In December, Space 42 and Iceye announced a joint project to manufacture radar satellites in the UAE.

The Cabinet established the “Supreme Space Council” to oversee the space sector’s policies and priorities.
While Eid Al Etihad 2024 celebrations witnessed a ceremony to honor space medals to five Emiratis specialized in the space sector.
Adding that the UAE hosted the 2nd Abu Dhabi Space Dialogue, which discussed challenges and opportunities in the space sector.
