UAE Aviation Thrives in 2023: A Year of Recovery and Growth
The UAE aviation sector soared in 2023, fueled by a rebound in air travel, the return of international airlines.
As well as the resumption of diversified routes by national carriers.
Emirati airlines fully restored their destinations and boosted their seat capacity, leading to record profitability, particularly for Emirates and Flydubai.
While Dubai solidified its position as a global aviation hub.
And also a leader in the air transport industry.
This is due to the significant infrastructure development and the continuous growth of Dubai International Airport.
Scheduled seat capacity on flights operating in UAE airports reached 70.58 million in 2023.
Which is representing a 10.15% increase compared to the previous year.
Dubai International Airport maintained its leading position as the world’s largest airport by scheduled international seat capacity throughout the year.

The UAE unveiled its sustainable aviation fuel policy in Dec 2023, adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers.
One of the most important milestone is Dubai successful hosting for the 18th edition of the Dubai Airshow.
Which is one of the largest in its history regarding participating companies and announced deals, reaching $100 billion (AED 368 billion).
The UAE boasts strong international cooperation in air transport.
This is by the number of air transport service agreements.
And also by memoranda of understanding with other countries rising to 187.
This strengthens the sector’s ability to support the UAE’s economic and trade openness policies.
In addition, it creates opportunities for growth in trade and tourism exchange between the Emirates and various nations worldwide.
