The United Arab Emirates sends 200 tons of urgent humanitarian aid to Kenya.
In response to the devastating floods and heavy rains that have impacted Kenya, causing loss of life and displacement, the United Arab Emirates has dispatched five planes carrying 200 tons of urgent humanitarian aid.
The aid includes essential food items and medical supplies, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to allocate $15 million to assist those affected.
Providing the Necessary Humanitarian Support
His Excellency Sultan Al Shamsi, International Development and Cooperation Assistant Minister, stated:
“Dispatching urgent humanitarian aid to Kenya comes in the implementation of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed directives.
In order to mobilize efforts and provide the necessary and effective humanitarian support to address the impact of the floods that have hit Kenya,
His Excellency added that five planes were dispatched from the UAE.
The planes are carrying UAE aid, which includes various essential food and medical supplies.
This aid reflects the strong ties between the two friendly countries.
It also highlights the UAE’s supportive solidarity with Kenya to alleviate the effects of the recent floods.
He affirmed that the UAE will continue to provide the necessary humanitarian support and early recovery programs for those affected by the floods in Kenya.
