The UAE efforts to activate the Loss and Damage Fund are really appreciated.
He praised the efforts of the United Arab Emirates in activating the Loss and Damage Fund.
As it was the first country to support it.
Furthermore, he described the step as a strong one in the way of pushing climate action.
And taking care of people affected by climate change.
Especially those who will lose their jobs.
As well as “adapting” to other livelihoods by providing them with an alternative agenda.
He mentioned that the studies to consider how climate change affects the job market continued from COP27 in Egypt to COP28 in the UAE.
And the UAE has adopted an ambitious climate action agenda and secured its own transition programs.
However, the scenario of strong industrial policies in the construction and green hydrogen sectors will lead to the creation of about 2.8 and 1.9 million jobs respectively.
Followed by the automotive industry with 1.5 million jobs, and electrical engineering with 900,000 jobs.
While the sectors related to oil and gas supplies/fuels and plastics need support of up to 700,000 and 460,000 jobs.
